Single-use plastics are, hence the name, only used once – and only for about 12 minutes total. However, it takes up to 450 years for these items to decompose, and even then, some plastic will still remain. 79% of the plastic waste ever produced now sits in landfills.

To show the long-term impact that single-use plastics have on the environment, we put centuries of decomposing into perspective. Using actual iconic pictures from historical events, we show the single-use plastics hiding within, generating awareness that while the circumstances themselves created moments that are long-gone, the plastics are still here—and will be for centuries to come.

We're prolonging this campaign by creating tailored social assets for different platforms, ensuring ALDI Süd's community remains rolling on the floor laughing (#rofl) and engaged, while encountering these assets on ALDI Süd’s social media channels.

Our campaign puts the focus on the iconic ALDI bag and all the fun and emotional moments our customers experience with it. At the same time, it proves that a great feast is possible even in difficult times. True to the motto: Whatever you do - make it your feast.

Smart Needle

Trying to drive a normal car through a big city nowadays is like trying to thread a needle. But a smart car, due to its small size and agility, can weave its way through the city like no other car can.

To bring this idea to life, we took the iconic features of three of Europe’s most famously crowded cities and recreated them as needles. 
These pieces of illustration are full of stories, crowded streets and narrow alleyways, that visualise the challenges for drivers today in a big city.
